From the Chief Appraiser and the staff at the Hutchinson County Appraisal District. First let me say that our thoughts and prayers are with all the citizens of Hutchinson County. Everyone, including us, has been affected in some way in the events that occurred on February 26th and 27th 2024 with the wildfires that affected the county. The Texas Property tax code allows for property that is damaged in a natural disaster to qualify for a temporary exemption and relief from ad valorum taxes for the portion of the year that the property was damaged or lost. Due to the wildfires that occurred on February 26th and 27th 2024 please click here to download the form and return it to the Hutchinson County Appraisal District. We will also have this form available at our office at 920 Illinois in Borger and we will be available to assist anybody in completing the form. The staff will reappraise the damaged property and value accordingly. Please don’t hesitate to contact the appraisal district at (806) 274-2294 or email us at HCAD@hutchinsoncad.com or visit the office for assistance needed.
